"Breakthrough" unframed poster
A limited edition of 75 of these prints of my mural in Serbia are available. Printful describes these as "museum-quality posters made on durable, matte paper. Archival, acid-free paper, printed in America, sweatshop free."
This painting is one of two murals I painted at Sun Hostel in Belgrade, about one year into my travels. The image comes from a powerful sculpture by a Turkish artist which I saw in Istanbul. Nearly every painting or mural I made while traveling abroad for 19 months was of a statue or sculpture that strongly captivated me. Surrounding these figures are either ideas around local religion or mythology, or things I may have been learning about at the time. In this case, I listened to the entire audiobook of Dune while painting this mural; I was also reading Krishnamurthi and ended up curating text from his work for this mural; but during my time in Belgrade what stands out above all else were the friends I made at the hostel. They were absolutely fantastic! To revisit the paintings and murals I made while traveling, check out the blog section of this site here. These reproductions are limited to an edition of 75, after which no more will be made.
